It is your responsibility to maintain compliance with the terms of your nonimmigrant visa status.
Examples of things you must do to remain compliant with your F/J visa status are:
- Maintain full-time course enrollment each semester
- Refrain from engaging in unauthorized employment off-campus and obtain proper work authorization before engaging in any employment off-campus
- Alert ISS of any changes to your personal contact information within 10 days
- Keep your documents valid and request extensions in a timely manner (i.e. prior to the program end date on your Form I-20 or Form DS-2019).
